Facebook Marketplace "Home Server" Complete Rack Mystery Purchase - Synology NAS, APC UPS & More!
In this video we take a look at a purchase I recently made on Facebook Marketplace of a "U Systems Home Server" for £50. This turned out to actually be a complete network/data rack cabinet with the contents included. The seller did not really know what it was and just wanted the space and this out of the way.
The cabinet is a nice steel unit on castor wheels with locking doors and sides. They keys even came with it and this alone is worth the cost of the bundle.
The cabinet also contained a bundle with lots of Ethernet, power and USB cables.
Equipment mounted in the rack consists of a Netgear ProSafe JGS524PE managed PoE swtich, an APC Smart-UPS C1000 2U Rackmount uninterruptible power su...

Просмотров 2494 месяца назад
In this video I show the repair process for a Shure PGX2 wireless SM58 handheld microphone transmitter with power issues. This involves complete disassembly and soldering a replacement mute / power switch to the main board. It's a relatively easy repair if you have reasonable soldering tools and experience. If not I would suggest finding somebody who does to complete the soldering step to avoid...

This was a set of 4 units I bought with 'UKING' branding and described as a 105W RGBW unit - however this is somewhat misleading since they have 7x 10W LEDs - making it 70W of light output, and 105W total mains power consumption from the wall (this includes the motors, fans and other electronic...

    It is literally the exact same identical connector dude. Down to the markings on the plastics, everything. What were you smoking?? And that gaffa tape is not recent. That's years old. Decades.... and... Oh my god. This is the WORST repair video ever. Not taking ALL THE HINTS: the three crosses on the transformer, the disconnected plug... but you just plug it in anyway. You could have fried all those electronics in the time you blink an eye. You're not being cautious and test it with your multimeter and/or a dummy load, but just DIRECTLY WITH YOUR EXPENSIVE MIXER. Do NOT take electronics ADVICE from this man! EVER. Stay away.

    DO you have an opinion about replacing the battery with a huge LiFePO4 battery, more like 200AH? No more power out -that's the inverter limit, but lots more hold up time.

    It worked! I love repairing old technology and recently picked up a Sony mega bass boombox. The cd drive wasn’t working so I took it apart (had to anyways to clean it) and check everything and didn’t see a problem. Cleaned the laser and all. Wasn’t till I saw your video it started working and read it faster than any cd player I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I’ve been repairing technology for years and didn’t know there was a little knob to adjust the laser. Then again I haven’t had to mess around with lasers too much. Thanks for the video! I’m so gonna raise it up in the air and play music for my fiancé 😂 Anything to make her laugh

    The threads don't mean anything. The transformer is embedded in hot glue, which is correct. Fakes usually don't have a transformer, or a fake transformer with the wiring going straight to the connector. Sorry to say, but you know nothing about these mics. You should learn before you post videos misleading people.

      Yes the price has gone up quite a lot since I purchased mine. It is probably the only item I have ever purchased in recent years to be worth more now than when I bought it. The mixing console alone these days is around £2600 GBP then The AR2412 is around £1300, Plus the flight case and such on top. It is kinda crazy. I actually want to buy an SQ6 and GX4816 but that is a whole other level of expense and money I don't have available at the moment. Those are about £3600 and £4000 respectively.

    Hi Nathan. I've had a pair of these mini LED moving head lights for many years, set as master-slave on sound activation (Srun). Having just seen your very interesting video I've now adjusted them differently (added rPan & rTil). Though I really want to adjust or modify the sensitivity so the music doesn't need to be as loud. I've added another amplifier wired to a pair of speakers in the roof cavity immediately above the master unit. Whilst I can clearly hear them inside the house through the Gyprock ceiling, the lights still don't trigger, even with the volume turned to max. I'm now thinking of experimenting with placing a speaker directly on top of the master, or cutting a vent hole through the ceiling, or possibly even rebating the base of the unit into the ceiling... Is there a way to make more sensitive? And do you know where the microphone is? (as I could relocate it into the ceiling by the speakers). I thought an advantage of a second amp would be that regardless of music volume (in the house), the lights would effectively have their own sensitivity via the second amp (as it gets it signal from the preamp RCA connection) Thanks, Brad

    • @bradc4892
      @bradc4892 3 месяца назад

      Update; I've dismantled my 'master' moving head and found there's a tiny electret microphone soldered to a PCB... but within the main casing, not externally mounted as expected. Of course this would be sheltered from sound, so I have de-soldered it and will get a larger electret plus about 1m of shielded cable tomorrow. I'll wire it so the mic can be situated in the roof cavity by the triggering speakers. Hopefully this will remedy my issue. If not, I'll need to purchase moving heads with a sensitivity adjustment.
